We source our antennas from a variety of Australian and overseas manufactures. The main reason is to fill in the gaps that are not fully catered for by local manufactures. We try to source heavy duty 12mm rod antennas with 100% u/v stabilized plastic fittings. Because of the harsh Australian conditions combined with heavy salt corrosion near the coast and the destructive influence of birds and wind then the stronger the better.
We supply and install
Hill's, Matchmaster, Fraccaro, Poltec, Atv, Otter and a variety of generic antennas that conform to the same heavy duty standards that are the bench mark for our installations.
A little bit of techno babble about antennas ------ "oils ain't oils" "antennas ain't antennas"
An analogue antenna is cut to receive ch2 to ch10 vhf ch28-31 and maybe some above this. This is a standard analogue antenna. Some of these will receive digital quite well, even though they are not really cut for the higher vhf digital channels.
Digital antennas are cut to receive ch6 to ch12 vhf and ch29 plus on uhf. In some cases 2 antennas are used one for vhf and one for uhf. This delivers a better c/n ratio so as eliminating a lot those annoying drop-outs and pixelations that are common to digital reception.
Digital Problems
Some of these so called "DIGITAL PROBLEMS "especially in older dwellings (even in some new homes) relate back to actual cable, some of it was not sheilded and in some cases the sheilding was not up to the digital standards that are common place to-day. Also many cable runs have been done with no thought to the seperation between services, so the result is turn on a light or an appliance then your TV goes beserk. This is called impulse noise and can be very hard to eliminate entirely. Call or e-mail for advice
